Solfert Calcium is a granular, hard, homogeneous fertilizer. It is applied from early spring until fruit setting and development.

The presence of nitrate has a positive effect on calcium uptake by the plant. Solfert Calcium, with its high calcium content, improves the resistance of cell walls during active phases of cell division.
Solfert Calcium is compatible with other fertilizers, except sulphur or phosphorus based fertilizers. So either use a separate container or use the fertilizers at different times.
Calcium deficiency is manifested as follows:
-growing sprouts degrade, become mucilaginous and turn brown;
-tomatoes and cucumbers affected by calcium deficiency show blossom end rot on the fruit;
-bitter crumbling of apples during ripening and storage;
-blooms and flower stalks bend;
-degeneration of the root center in celeriac (black heart);
-reduces head splitting, prevents leaf burn in cabbage;
-cracked calyx on carnations.
