BENEVIA

Benevia® is an insecticide of the anthralyl diamide class. Cyantraniliprole causes activation of ryanodine receptors in insects. Activation of ryanodine receptors stimulates loss of calcium (Ca++) from the internal stores of smooth and striated muscles, causing irregular muscle function, paralysis and death of the insect.

Benevia® acts by contact and ingestion. The behaviour of the insect is rapidly modified due to exposure to a toxic dose of the active substance, resulting in rapid cessation of feeding and death of the insect after a short period of time and in this way results in very good protection of the treated crops. Paralysis of the insect occurs a few hours after exposure and results in cessation of movement and feeding 24-60 hours after ingestion/absorption. Larvae may remain in the area of attack even if they stop feeding and become paralysed and may create an apparent reduction in efficacy. Pests are completely controlled after 3-6 days.

Time of action is 14-21 days and depends on the target pest, timing of application and attack pressure. The product has ovicidal, ovi-larvicidal and adulticidal action depending on the species.Cyantraniliprole has translaminar movement in the leaves, mainly acropetal (base to tip) and less basipetal. It is systemic, mobile through the xylem when applied to stems, shoots or petioles or when taken up by roots. It is not volatile. Product persistence is 5 to 14 days depending on dose and environmental and crop conditions.

Benevia® is applied foliar to control the most important defoliating insects.
